   Pretty much same as the ppl above loads of calls all wanting remote access. all saying our pc's have problems virus blah blah, when questioned what system we use our name address pc id they cant answer...all asian indian sounding...spoke to police on action fraud and cyber crime, and made statement online

   Scam Call - Indian call centre claiming to be affiliated with Microsoft. Claim to receive reports of viruses on you computer etc. Will then try to convince you that they are legit, prove via minor error reports that you have computer viruses etc which they can help you with provided you allow them remote access to your computer. They will then charge you for not removing the imaginary viruses while secretly uploading personal files etc from your computer. Web sites info usually looks legit, as being from the country of intended victim (US = Ohio, UK = Oxford etc) however registration of the websites is based in Kolkata, India.
   I had a fun 40 minutes with them after which I called them out on the scam and giving them info on their base, who had registered their website/s (Rahul Das) etc at which point female caller had a muffled panicked conversation with colleagues which resulted in her hanging up the call. I have not received any further calls in the past 2 weeks.

   0019372470349 - one of many such callers - telephone number supposedly based in Dayton, Ohio, USA but probably not a landline but computer based Tel. No. (perhaps ironically using Microsoft Skype) - claim to be "Windows Service centre" - probably phishing, a high cost alledged computer anti-malware /virus maintenance support company which will be even more expensive and distressing when your computer data gets trashed and very much more expensive if your bank a/c gets raided.
   Once this number is no longer usable they will call again using a new number - blocking the number will not solve the problem, only raiding the call-centre will stem the tide, until a new base is established.

   These people claim to be from Microsoft, or a generic sounding computer company. They will tell you that you have a problem with your windows computer, and will try to get access to your computer, files, info etc, and try to get money out of you. Do not do anything they suggest. Hang up. Better still, do not answer. They are extremely persistent, and nothing you say will stop them calling. They have called me 10 times in one day. Varioius operators, mostly with asian accents, but one with american accent. Often they will say nothing and hang up, so can be just irritatiting, but potentially very harming.
