I answered a call from this number earlier today. The guy said, in broken English, he was from Windows Technical Help. He said there was a problem which meant that my computer would crash at any time and he asked me to go to my computer and switch it on. I challenged him saying that I didn't believe him, at which point my husband walked in. The guy assured me he was genuine and that I must do as I said. My hubby shook his head and told me to ask him which computer he was on about, which I did, and he replied "the one that's running Windows". I told him that all the computers ran Windows. He then said it was the one that was connected to the internet and I told him all of my computers were connected. He replied that any of the computers would do. I asked him for his phone number and the number he gave me was a Newcastle code. I then told him I didn't believe him and I was going to the police about it. He immediately went "oh my God, oh my God. No ma'am please don't do that, please no maam" and he started crying. I asked him what he had to hide and he begged me not to go to the police and cried more. He then ended the call. A scam looking to put malware onto my computer. -
Richard345 reported Windows with the number +12031291358 as Cost trap
Caller spoke with an accent appropriate to the Indian continent, despite a London number being displayed. He said that he was calling from 'Windows' about a problem with my computer. He said 7t was showing a fault. I asked which machine - he said the Windows 7 one. I asked him which of thecseveral Windows 7 machines I have was giving the problem and he replied 'The newest one'. I said OK and he went on to state that they were trying to send some vital security updates to the machine, but were being refused access (Well of course they would be). I asked him to repeat what he had said and when he had told him that Microsoft do not send unsolicited updates. He said 'We are not Microsoft - we are WINDOWS (caps for his emphasis). I told him that he was having a laugh and after he struggled to find that response on his script, he hung up. Beware folks, they want you to download malware onto your machines, which could do anything from phish for personal information to locking your machine until you pay a ransom to recover it

Tel reported Microsoft with the number 02031291358 as Cost trap
Have been getting calls from this and other numbers for ages saying that I have downloaded a virus and microsoft are monitoring my computer. Could they please access my PC if I pressed some keys and they would show me the problem.
I've told them to stop calling which makes no difference so I bought a blocking unit called a CPR callblocker. It is the best thing I have done. My phone only blocks up to 10 numbers but this blocks up to 1200 numbers, is worth every penny and has a big red 'Block Now' button on the front if a new number is used.
I'm nothing to do with the company but if you have nuisance callers then look into it. -

(In UK) I have received several calls from this number recently. They are always silent. Sounds as though they are automatic calls which cut off when someone answers but doesn't speak after the initial greeting - maybe ringing random numbers to test if they get an answer? I am registered on the UK Telephone Preference Service so it is illegal to make unsolicited calls to my number from within the UK but this number continues to do so. Will try to get it barred.

CARROLLSBOOT reported number 02031291358 as MICROSOFT(.!!!! LOL)
F-ing arseholes. Won't stop ringing us. Have rung several times from this number. Claiming to be PPI, doing surveys (put the phone down when I asked to speak to their complaints department because they rang us 10 times in half an hour once - the last "idiot" said "It wasn't us" - erm yes it was, the number you used was the same, the name you used "Hugh Jackman" was the same - wish Hugh Jackman was ringing me), and MICROSOFT. The last a-hole who rang insisted he spoke to Mr (surname - which was right) about the virus on his computer. MR (surname) doesn't use the computer and he wouldn't have a clue apart from turning it on at the tower. The a-hole before him stated he had been told by MICROSOFT to ring me. When I suggested that I report Microsoft for giving my details out without permission, he called me a f-ing (in full btw) silly b----h and slammed the phone down!

Anonymous reported Sheffield with the number 02031291358 as Cost trap
I could barely understand the Chinese caller who said 'hello' many times. He explained he was from Microsoft and I had a virus on my computer. He was insistent that I log on to my computer so that he could fix it. When I questioned him he was quite irate. I said I was busy and would call him back but he declined and has now called half a dozen times in one morning. A friend has told me he had this happen and because he didn't comply with the caller's request, he received calls at very unsocial hours and had to block the number.

Be careful guys, this is a huge scam. Don´t trust these guys, they just want to steal our personal data. They claimed there were calling on behalf of Microsoft, saying that my pc had some kind of problems. Of course they asked for my personal info. I told them not to call me anymore, but I keep getting calls. That´s annoying, I think I´m going to block this number.
