Received a message from "Julie Smith" at IRS that stated: "This is time sensitive. I'm officer Julie Smith from Internal Revenue Service and the hotline to my division is 2022419746. I repeat it's 2022419746. Don't disregard this message and do return the call before we take any action against you. Goodbye and take care."
It was clearly created with voice synthesizer software and I found similar comments from other saying it's a scame of some sort.kristen2030 replied 9/18/14, 9:05 AMi just got one as well. I sent the number to my husband to check out. It was odd and non professional, they didnt even re-state the return phone call number. If it was that serious I would think the number would have been repeated.

Muffled female automated voice message stating they were Officer Julie Smith from the IRS, that the message was time sensitive, don't disregard, do return the call before we take action against you and then ending with "Goodbye and take care". Seemed strange, but I called the return number 202-241-9746 and went to voice mail. The voice was different with an Asian accent. I did not find the number on the IRS website, nor any warning about this scam. I have to assume they are trying to get PII, so STAY AWAY.
