Called saying he was Officer Alex cooper from the IRS... Yet he had a heavy Indian accent (lol). Gave me an attitude when I was in disbelief and called the whole thing ridiculous. Also sounded like he was reading off a template in front of him.

Got a call from a guy with a heavy accent....Office something. Said he was from the IRS and thankfully asked for someone else. I said no one is here by that name and he said OK thank you and hung up. Lot of noise in the background, could barely understand him. I thought to myself "The IRS would be way more professional than this..." and googled the number and saw it's a scam from Pakistan, which makes sense based on the guy's accent. Don't trust these guys!

Scam callers posing as the IRS.... How YOU can strike back!!!
My story is the same as yours. Caller left voicemail with the usual threats. Claimed to be "Officer Eric Forster" of the IRS, said I owed money, faced legal trouble, etc. I called back. They claimed to be with the IRS, and everyone I spoke to had an Indian accent. If you're reading this, you know the rest.
These losers are despicable. They scam old people for a living. The IRS isn't able to stop them because they're all overseas.
aaaaaah.... but there IS something WE can do, to monkeywrench these a**holes and put a dent in their little scam.
I've identified two numbers that they use: 202-600-4270, and 202-506-8153. So go ahead. Call them both. If you know more numbers, call them too.
Repeatedly... like I've been doing.
When the "IRS" answers, you can tease them, taunt them, annoy them.
Listen to them fumble... not sure what to do when the tables are turned.
Listen to them get frustrated and angry, especially when you start laughing (awwww, it's SO cute when they use their little cuss words!)
Listen to them hang up. You know, it's impolite to end a call so abruptly. You'll just have to call them back....
Like shooting fish in a barrel. Only you *really* hate the fish.
And every time YOU call them, YOU make these jerks' day just a little worse then it was before. Waste some of their time. Give yourself a really good laugh. Who knew revenge could be this fun?
And if enough of US call THEM, and tie up their phone lines, and p*** them off, maybe just maybe they'll abandon their little scam?
*** IMPORTANT SAFETY TIP *** Be sure your outgoing caller ID is blocked before you call! I always enter *67 (star-6-7) before their numbers. Bonus: if they don't know it's you, they can't dodge your call.
Once again, the scammers can be reached at at least these two numbers: 202-600-4270 and 202-506-8153.

They called me left message that they were IRS & to call & not ignore message or alleged legal action will take place against me. Still waiting for something to happen.
yellow jesus replied 7/31/14, 11:47 AMGot the same call. I called back and asked if they were the IRS and they said they were. I then told them that I found their number on a scam number website. He promptly hung up on me.
