   Calls me several times a day saying I've received $7000 in grant money by the U.S. government and I told him and her to stop calling me and hang up and call again an hour later.

   this people have call me numerous times and tell me he works for Microsoft I call Microsoft and they don't call no one this is a scam someone that has some of your info in the net I don't know what to do next but we need to put this people in jail

   Got a call stating they were in DC with the US Government wanting to give me a $7000 grant. Caller ID said Ontario, Canada. I asked they guy how he is calling from DC when he isn't on a DC number, he recited a different number than the one that showed up on my caller ID (with a 202 area code). I said "that's not the number you are calling from" and he hung up. I hope no one falls for these scams.

   Received a call from this number, a heavy accented man claiming to be from Microsoft same as others on here. I said well if you're truly calling from Microsoft then surely you can confirm the model and serial number for the computer that reported the issue. Hung up, hasn't called back.

   Said he was calling from Washington DC, and that I had been approved for an $8,000 ish loan that I never had to pay back. Heavy accent, and when I asked why he was calling me from Ontario, Canada (that's what came up on caller ID), or that the area code was from CA, he just said that he was calling from the Federal Government, Grants and Loan department and the FBI was monitoring his call. I told him I thought it was a scam, and then hung up.

   Received a call from this number. I received no answer when I answered the call. I tried to return the call and got a recording that the number is no longer in service.

    3 calls 2 from a different # very hard to understand with their accents and it was frustrating, but this one was from the "supervisor" and he was rather rude and almost to the point of anger. They wanted to help me because they recieved a alert from the server that it was from my computer. I hung up and they kept calling back. But when I told them I was going to report them, they haven't called back since.

    my experience has been similar to that of roberta. i recently received a call from this number with a man, who said he was from microsoft, claiming that my browser sent them a critical error message alerting them that my computer was infected by a virus. my brother is an it-expert, so if there was something wrong with my computer i'd trust him before anyone else with the problem. what's more, i didn't notice anything different with my computer and when i asked since when my computer was infected the man on the other end kind of stumbled over his words before saying that they had just received the message that day and were now trying to work on it. i said i'd rather check with my brother first (since he would actually come over and have a look at the "infected" computer rather than talking to me over the phone about it) and hung up. well, according to my brother everything's fine and apparently this is some kind of scam that has been going on for some time. so BEWARE!

    I just had a similar call. it's quite early for me, so i thought it must be something important. Guess not... Good thing that I genuinely didn't have the time to get into the whole thing and just said so on the phone. He actually asked if he could call back later, I said sure - now I'll just block the number.

    Some woman with a heavy accent said she was from Microsoft and that they were sent a critical error message by my browser that suggested that my computer was heavily infected by a virus. She asked me to type in a code to help her fix my computer, but it seemed fishy to me, so I refused and hung up. I called the security department of Microsoft and they confirmed it was a scam. They also said that they'd never call you unless you call them first.
