megamom reported Apex Technology/Microsoft with the number 8555394928 as Cost trap
Just received call from this number. Caller claimed he was from Microsoft. I kept asking him and he finally said he was from Apex Technology but that they are contracted by Microsfot to tell people when their computers have been compromised. Said a UR address from North Carolina was attacking my computer and could see what i was doing. Clearly bogus!!

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!
THEY ARE NOT FROM WINDOWS/MICROSOFT!
They will ask you to install a program to give them access to your computer and if you don't pay them they will trash your files. One experience was posted on the company blog of Malwarebytes:

Pam reported Harry-Tech support with the number +18555394928 as Cost trap
I just got a call from Harry at ext#1004
from 855-539-4925- HE claims that someone is trying to use my IP address - well to make a long story short - I asked him to give me his info instead & when u call back u actually get an answer and it sounds like a bonafide company,- HOWEVER I researched & contacted a Microsoft tech co & was advised that these people are scammers!
They will get you to give them ur info- like your computer ID # or something & tell you that your computer has been infected and show proof of, but what you don't know is that they are the ones infecting your computer before they show you this and then they will tell you that they can remove the virus and charge you for it!
SO DO NOT entertain these scammers!!!!David replied 7/2/14, 7:05 PMNo Harry is such an nice person as he helpled me out for fixing up the issu and even he shown me his certificates being resistered with windows -

Alleged microsoft support. I let the caller once down rattle its text, but never said yes or something. Eventually we came to the point that I was at my computer. I said (of course, was a lie ^ ^) that I do not own a computer and the caller just said, then why am I stealing his time. I him his? He probably mean!
