   These are SCAMMERS, NOT Bank of America. Do NOT give them any information! They want to steal people's Social Security numbers for identity theft purposes.
   
   I received an email with SUBJECT:
   Important reminders about transaction dispute claims related to your Bank of America prepaid debit card
   
   Sender's email address must have been fake. It showed as:
   [email protected]
   
   This is a scam to steal Social Security numbers. The email only gave what it claimed were the last 4 digits of the prepaid card (which I don't have). I called the general account questions phone number in the email. Voice mail system said to either enter a card number or press 1 to report lost or stolen. I pressed "0" a couple of times on prompts and was connected with a woman. She said she could only help me if I gave her the full card number or my Social Security number to verify my account. I told her that if a prepaid card was sent to me, such as for a rebate or other reward programs, the sender would NOT have my Social Security number, and so there's no way she can look up anything for me with my S.S. number. I asked her repeatedly to give me a website address for a valid Bank of American Prepaid Card site, where I could verify that the phone number I called from the email is a valid Bank of American customer service number. I told her repeatedly that I was concerned this was really Bank of America. She made various excuses, and would not provide me with a web address. I insisted, and then she said she was disconnecting our call, and she hung up.
   
   These are SCAMMERS. Do NOT give them any information. The email had a variety of phone numbers. I called the first one. Do NOT call any of these numbers:

   Bank of America ( Scam ) is using everyone information's! DONT CALL THE NUMBER ON THE LETTER IF YOU GET ONE! 866-213-4074. Call BACK OF america not a scam

   I am so glad I saw your comment because I received the same email from you. The amount was quite big and the card expired like three years ago. The email I received is exactly the same, exactly as you detail it and with the same phone numbers. I had my doubts about it and you confirmed exactly what I needed to know.    EMAIL SCAM!! This is NOT FROM BOA, this is a scam intended to DEFRAUD! The email looks 'generally' like it might be from BOA but it ISN'T! There are Many Red Flags within the email, but, someone NOT paying attention will miss them. DO NOT RESPOND OR CLICK ON LINKS!!! It reads as such:
   
   BANK OF AMERICA
   Account ending in: 1111
   
   WE SENT YOU INFORMATION RELATED TO YOUR PREPAID DEBIT CARD ACCOUNT. THE LETTER WAS RETURNED TO US. PLEASE CONTACT US TO CONFIRM YOUR MAILING ADDRESS.
   We attempted to deliver important information regarding your prepaid debit card account to the address we have on file. Unfortunately, the letter was returned to us as undeliverable.
   
   What you need to do
   Please contact us upon receipt of this notice. Upon authentication we will update your contact information within our system of record and discuss the important information related to your prepaid debit card account. If you don’t contact us to update your contact information, you may not receive other important information concerning your prepaid debit card account going forward. Contact us at 866.213.4074. We’re available to take your call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can help in multiple languages.
   
   Thank you for taking care of this right away.
