Scam number pretending to be chase. callers sound legit with good English and American accidents. They called with a caller Id chase. They claimed someone had opened a chase account in my name and were transferring money out of it through zelle. They will ask you questions about your security and make you believe your identity has been stolen. They will give you case numbers then transfer you to the "Zelle cancellation department" to cancel the "Zelle" transactions. They will then convince you to go in to your zelle on your chase app and use the case number they gave you earlier in the add the recipient section claiming you are putting your account in non-transaction mode. In reality the case number is actually just a phone number and once you put that in they try to convince you to put in the other case number you got into the money portion of the transfer claiming its the code to allow the cancelation when in reality its just the amount of money they are trying to steal form you. If you get a call from this number hang up! I have been called many times by scammers and never came close to falling for any of them but this one was scary legit sounding and I wanted to raise awareness.
