   We received 2 call from this number stating that there was pending legal action due to back taxes owed the IRS. Both time when I called back I could not get any information nor was I giving them any. His name was Max Martin

   A man supposedly named Alex from the "IRS" called me and said they needed by social security number to verify an investigation on me. Actually a scam.. don't believe those people!

   A guy with a really thick Indian accent claiming to be with the IRS called, he was using a fake name too, there's no way his real name is Matthew. Basically he said I owed money for income taxes, which I didn't. I called him a scam artist and I told him to prove he was from the IRS and he hung up. I didn't give him any information. The real IRS won't call like this. If you get called by this number I would recommend reporting it to www.tigta.gov. That's the treasury of the inspector general.

   Left a message saying an urgent time sensitive matter regarding taxes. His name was Michael Belly (hard to understand through the thick accent). Provided the telephone number and a reference #.

   Guy named Richard Gep(sp?) called with regards to tax litigation. He said "Don't try to disregard message before illegal action is taken against you." Found this thread shown here on tellows.com and thought I would comment with the experience.

   I was called by someone with a heavy Indian or Pakistani who said there was a discrepancy in my IRS reporting, and to call this number immediately(202-506-8435)and ask for agent Michael Carter. I was to tell him my case number is 228166

   My parents received a message on their home phone for me using my maiden name and a shortened version of my legal first name. The caller also had a very heavy Indian/Pakistani accent. He said his name was Sebastian Shaw and I needed to call back immediately due to a legal matter.

   Same man called me and asked for my cell phone but he knew I was the daughter of who he was calling for and it is definitely a scam do not give in ever. He called for a miscalculation in my dads income taxes. His name was Michael carter with an indian accent.

    The Internal Revenue Service today warned consumers about a phone scam targeting taxpayers throughout the country.Victims are told they owe money to the IRS and it must be paid soon a pre-loaded debit card. So pay attention, don't answer and don't send money!
