IRS scam Officer Julie Smith of the Internal Revenue Service has a new number: 415-506-1282 and now, she's an automated recorded message.
Previous numbers include 202-506-8096, 202 506-9784, 202 506-9737, 202 506-9983, and 202-506-9746.
Like many scams, this one traces back to South Florida. If you're getting these calls, report them to the FCC, the FTC, and to your state's Attorney General's office. Encourage them to subpoena the records from the VOIP service provider.
P.S. It's also possible to record the calls, and ask your local news station to do an investigative report. Sometimes this helps to light a posterior incendiary device under the Attorney General's buttocks, if they're not pursuing an investigation. :-) -

I tried to call back, my callrang and rang till voicemail picked up. It was this same telephone 4155061282 and 4155061284. -

202-241-9749 The way to get them back is to block your number and call them. Dial *67 then 202-241-9749. They have to answer the phone in order to talk to people to scam. Don't leave your name or phone number and they can't trace you.

These are scams, trying to get personal info. if you call back the number nothing happens.
SKELO replied 9/22/14, 2:24 PMI should have know, but got worried anyway. Julie was not there when I called and I thought any minute they would ask for the SS#, but never did.
They said some UFC# and the amount, but said it was to late to get paperwork, since the warrant had already been made for my arrest.
I'm glad I found this web site and will look here more often. -

Received a voice mail message on my home phone from "Julie Smith" of the IRS indicating legal action if I did not call back. It was a recorded message from 202-241-7549. I called to see if anyone would answer. A female answered with another name and said she was with the IRS. I stated that this was not an IRS listed number to her several times at which she said something like having a police officer call me and than hung up. Scam obviously.

9/10/14 looks like Julie Smith changed her phone number. My call was from 202-506-8392. Content was the same. It was received on my parents' answering machine. They are in their 90's on fixed incomes and haven't paid taxes for about 30 years so i knew it was a bogus call.

Don't disregard this message and do return the call before we take any legal allegation against you. Goodbye and take care." When I called the number it was a voice mail with an Asian women's voice to leave my number (which I did not). Nothing on their message regarding IRS.

I got a few calls from these clowns today. The first time, I asked him for his agent # and told him I would verify his info w/the IRS and call him back, he then said I could not verify him because he works in Washington DC. I hung up on him and then called back. I told him he didn't work for the IRS, he then asked why are you calling me back then. I told him to waste his time, he then asked what I would do for him tonight? I tolld him to ask his mother, then he began to curse. So I hung up on him again. Later in the day I got another call from "Julie Smith", same nonesense...

Same as above from Julie smith. When I called back I spoke with a man who said he was from the IRS and Julie had left for the day. I told him I was checking the number because the message sounded very suspicious then he said okay and hung up on me.

Unbelievable stuff. Mr Roger 'whatever' suggested that I provided misleading information to the IRS over the last 3 years, which sees me now with a significant bill that I need to rectify over the phone and not a moment later. I have never heard of such nonsense in my life. I am deeply insulted and concerned that such a thing is operating that could see alot of people losing their savings!

They are using diallers now. I just got a call from this number and they left a recorded voice mail. Stating I owed the IRS money. So fishy that I am still waiting for something to happen.
