   I got a phone call from a number without an area code 567-8455 and the guy told me I was chosen for a $9,000 grant from the government that was tax free and I would't have to pay back. Of course as soon as he said this I KNEW it was bogus. But I went along with it to see what kind of information I could get out of this guy. He proceeded to give me a redemption code MK537 and said to call 2027381426 in order to claim the $9,000. So I google the phone number and came across this forum. Hope no one is foolish enough to give out any important information about themselves!!!!

   I just got the same exact thing but it was a woman. I strung her along with a long story about my fake sick kid in the hopes that wasting 15 mins of her time would prevent others from getting the same call and being fooled.
   I then admonished her for being a scumbag.

   Told me that my number was randomly selected by the government to receive a $9,000 grant. But, I would have to call the Account Manager at this number: 202-738-1426. They did not know my name. The initial call showed as an Unavailable number.

   Called saying we had received a government grant of $9000 for being a good citizen, however, they claimed we needed to pay $295 as a security deposit. To my knowledge, the US Government doesn't need a security deposit.
