They called here 10 times in the past 5 minutes. Not an exaggeration. I picked up on the 10th time (I already know they are some spam/magazine solicitation) and told them to stop calling because they literally called 10 times in 5 minutes. The lady said "I apologize" and hung up. 10 seconds later she called again...

I had been receiving calls at work, almost daily, and based on these websites I just assumed it was a telemarketer/spam that I didn't have any interest in. Today I finally got up the nerve to answer and tell them off, but it turns out it was some sort of call center that wanted to ask me if I wanted to renew a business-related magazine subscription. I must have forgotten to pro-actively renew this year. The woman knew the answers to all the questions I normally had to answer when I'd send back the renewal card or fill in on their website; she just asked me to confirm them. So in my case this was very legit phone number.

Keep getting calls from them everyday. They left a recorded message on my voicemail which I only caught the end of. Message stated that if I didn't call them back and tend to whatever matter with them (voicemail didn't catch that part), local authorities would pick me up as I have 4 serious allegations against me.

We are a wholesale nursery and receive roughly 15 calls every week from these people. I pulled this site up and read some of these reviews to her and she insisted they are legit. Anyway-said she would call back and I told her we are going to have the same conversation every time! SO ANNOYING!! Who has time for this crap? We are trying to run a business and these constant interruptions have to stop.

Called to talk about "beauty product magazine." Caller had the correct name associated with phone number....but she sounded like she was calling from another country with 100 people in the room. Staticky line and couldn't understand what she was asking.

This number calls my direct line MULTIPLE TIMES a day. They never leave a voice mail. If you answer the call, it disconnects immediately after you speak. If you call the number back, it rings rapidly, then it starts playing elevator music. If you press #, it rings a few times, then drops the call.

I'm an electronics engineer who receives irritating subscription renewal calls regularly, if I forget to renew online, etc...., but this is particularly obnoxious. It doesn't act like an errant autodialer. It's more like a phone prankster, calling at least 5 times per day. If I were A bit more paranoid, I'd swear I hear breathing in the background.
Fortunately no after-hours calls yet.
The "Do Not Call List" is a joke. -

Has called multiple times per day to our business line. every time we answer, they hang up. I called back and a woman with a strong accent (not sure from where) answered and said the company was ADS and they sell things and she apologized for the hang ups. She said it was due to the new phone dialer system they use at her business. I asked her to remove the phone number from her call list and she said she would.

Calls several times a day. Never leaves a message at all. We have an answering machine and caller ID on the phone so we NEVER pick up these kinds of calls. We get many such calls from several different numbers each day. They typically start at 9 AM and end in early evening. However, we have gotten a few after 10 PM at night (not many). There must be some way to counter this telephone terrorism. Perhaps a legislator could introduced a bill in Congress or a state legislature which would declare this sort of harassment as terrorism. And, make the punishment a felony with jail time and fines. Maybe that would quell this sort of intrusion into our privacy.
Jim replied 5/31/17, 4:06 PMActually, they do have a law; it's called the "Do Not Call" list. Unfortunately, most telemarketers just ignore it. I do think raising the violation to a felony would tamp a lot of the problem down. Once branded as a felon it becomes extremely difficult to obtain many of the licenses and services (loans, insurance, bonding, etc.) needed to run a business. Attaching a MANDATORY prison sentence of at least 18 months would also go along way to alleviate the problem.
