This number called me twice claiming that there was a warrant for my arrest from the IRS. Soon there will be a warrant for arrest for this fraudulent company.

I received a call today from 219-989-6048 leaving me a message saying they were the IRS and the police were getting ready to come to my house and arrest me for tax evasion. I called the number back and they said my tax returns from 2009-2014 were reviewed and I owed $1956. They wanted me to go to a local grocery store and get a cashier’s check and they would send agents to my house with legal documents, pick up the check and then they would notify the IRS, Department of Homeland Security, Justice Department, etc. and my arrest warrant would be rescinded. They said I only had two hours to complete this. I looked up the number on the Internet and it seems that this scam just started a couple of days ago. The person on the phone spoke such broken English with a foreign accent that it was hard to understand him.

Just wanted to let you know so you could post a warning. The call is frightening and I can see where some people would fall for it.

I just received the exact same call. Same wording - Everyone had an accent - wanted me to go to a local store to get a money order - When I asked them to give me my info they said it was illegal to do so. What a scam!
