This is an IRS scam call. I did not initially answer call but, instead, looked for reports on the number and discovered it was being reported as an IRS scam. I returned the call to get as much information as I could in an effort to report the call. The person who answered had a foreign accent, said "IRS" and asked how he could help me. I did not identify myself but asked how much I owed. He did not ask for my name or any other information; he simply said I owed $1685.93. I asked his name; he identified himself as Sam Wilson. I asked his position at the IRS and he responded audit officer. Then he said, "How would you like to handle this before it goes to court?" I responded, "Oh, I wouldn't but thank you for all the information. You are a scammer and I am reporting you immediately." I then ended the call.
I immediately reported this call to the FTC, using their website at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/
