said her name but i didn't catch it. said she was on recorded call and that i was down as a reference for <name of my niece> and i said, yeah that's my niece. she said she has her still in <city name> i said yes. then she said she didn't have her full number and wanted me to give the rest of it. I said, i wouldn't give it out but i could contact her to give her your number. she repeated that i was a reference (i didn't ask for what darn it), i was silent so she said that's okay. bye.

This company called me at my place of business looking for someone else. After I told her I dont know her she then called my cell phone. Then preceeded to argue with me. I have now reported them and blocked the number. No idea who the person was she was looking for or how they got me

This guy keeps calling me at work and cell. Claims he's trying to confirm my brothers cell number. Talks down to me, says I can't comprehend what he's asking (because I tell him he has all the contact info he needs). Asked to talk to his supervisor and he said he wasn't available and he didn't know his number.

When someone claims it's "An Important Private Business Matter" and refuses to give you any information about their true purpose for their call, 9 times out of ten... it's a scam.
When I repeated "What is the purpose for this call?" Then they acted like I was the ignorant one and they had no business talking to me about anything and asked if I could hear them. I promptly stated that they can take our number off of their call list, and hung up.
FYI: Report any experiences like these to the FTC online or by calling 1-888-382-1222. Most likely, they are already on their list, but it never hurts. -

this number called my job asked to speak to me, when I got on the line it proceeded to tell me they were calling trying to reach my nephew, and that he gave them my number. I told them thats funny I havent talked to my nephew in years and this would not have been the number he would have given so dont ever call this number again!
its just sad they have to lie in order to have a job, shows what type of people they hire. I will be contacting BBB tonight -

I told him that I was his patient, and that he should call his office (he had the office address). He said he tried that. He said he was looking for a close friend or family member, and wanted his personal phone number. I just said sorry and hung up. Weirdest thing is my phone number is not listed anywhere. -

they called asked for someone on one of my facebook group pages, stated my name my husbands name my employer, stated that this person listed me as a reference, i stated that i didnt know her, he gave me her employer, address, whom she was married too, i sent a private message on fb to her, she stated that 3 other ppl messaged her saying the same thing and when she called the number they asked for her ssn and when she refused they hung up this is completly a spam. also let me add that my husband is not on facebook and my number is not listed anywhere,

Keeps calling my home number and asked for a family member that doesn’t live in the same state. But asked I if I could get a messaged and she said she has no message it a personal matter.
Then she said it was important but didn’t get it at first. So I ask “you said it is or isn’t important?” She said “No it’s important” I then said “if it is important let me have a message and I can get it to her” she then said “no it’s okay”
I just hung up since it wasn’t that important to leave a message with a contact number.

Answered call. HUGE mistake. They asked for a name of someone that is definitely not me. When I stated that I received the phone number yesterday and that I was that person he asked for my name. I responded "no way in hell" and said the number now belonged to my employer. He kept asking if I was a bunch of different women. Dude, I am none of them and I sure as hell won't hand over my name since I don't know who you are. Finally hung up on the guy and blocked the number.
LISTEN TO ME, I AM NOT THAT PERSON. I AM NOT SCAMMING OR LYING TO YOU. STOP ASKING ME STUPID QUESTIONS.
I answered the phone to be helpful and tell them they now had the wrong number. My bad for attempting to be nice. -

Keeps calling my minor son's cell number. I did call back the number today. Gal answers, claims she only transfers incoming calls. Doh! I was the incoming call. Transferred me a gal named Virginia, of course I got her voice mail. Told her to remove the number immediately and if she had a problem with it to call his phone again and ask for his mom and I would be more then happy to handle it for her.

They would give no information and said they would send a letter. My wife found this number on the computer and is sending this message. The caller ID on my phone came up 541 955 7800. -

they have called multiple times on my WORK number, often seemingly purposely making it hard to hear what they are saying, then they speak clearly when they tell you the number to call back on.
I have no loans and no unpaid bills. Seem like scammers. -

Possibly a collection company - received a call, she did not state her name only that she was on a recorded line asking for my ex-husband of more than 13 years ago. UNbelievable How they would have found me? I have a different name, and at least 10 phone numbers since then *they called my cell, and also live in a completely different state. NOPE I cannot tell you how to find him - havent seen him in more than a decade. Seriously these people, creepy they tracked me down.

called me at my job and said it was a recorded line and asked me to verify if was the right(my name) and to double check some questions last 4 of my ss number. The lady knew of one of my previous addresses and birthdate....I asked what it was about and they said in was inregards to my school loans. I ask if they could mail me some info and she said after a I do an agreement of payments statement that then they would send me info...I gave them my cell because I didn't want them calling me at by job...I thought it was so weird and then I look up the number and everyone was saying fraud just how I FELT. But no they keeping calling my job and my cell phone under fake numbers.. Please help stop thses calls from happening

These scam artists are truly on a mission to steal anyone's identity, they are calling my uncle, my cousin, and when I called asking me for my ss# I don't have a debt with them my student loans go through direct loans which are currently in a deferment and I have contact with them. Do NOT answer these calls and definitely do not give them your info!!!!!!!

Seen that I missed a call. I have no reason to hide from ANYBODY....so I called back and they asked for a Marvin. Explained that they have a wrong # (have no idea who Marvin is) and the lady apologized for the call and then said she would remove the #. She never asked for any personal info and nor would I have given it!!!

They keep calling nearly everyday. then don't say anything when leaving a voicemail. I answered once and they asked for a different name. I told them there was no one here by that name. They said they would remove me from call list but they still continue to call.
