This is a solicitation call from the NRA. I WAS a member until they daily called me and emailed me tons of advertisements. I'm all for protecting our 2nd ammendment rights, but this is probably the most ridiculous advertising ever. They dont stop calling or emailing even when you take your name off the lists. FRUSTRATING.

This number calls my cell phone EVERY DAY at about 10 AM but hangs up if I answer. When I called it back, the recording says "Thank you for calling the National Rifle Association, we're very sorry we missed you. We were trying to reach you with some recent updates and will try to reach you again in the next few days. If you would like additional information about the National Rifle Association, please press one now." Was a member, but if this is really them I'll never be a member again!

One simple rule... NEVER GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO SOMEONE THAT CALLED YOU!!! Legit businesses such as Banks, IRS, Credit Cards, etc. do not call and ask for important info. If it is suspicious, hang up and look up the phone number to inquire any concerns. DO NOT CALL BACK USING THE NUMBER THAT JUST CALLED. And if it upsets you, don't answer calls you don't recognize. If it's important they will leave a message and your blood pressure is not at risk. If you answer these calls where no one speaks it simply lets them know to keep you on the list. Some can tap into the connection to call other countries for $$$ per minute on your dime, quarter, dollars...... There is no limit to the many different ways it may be a scam.

It's a scam that has gotten your name/address/number from a list that the NRA sells to places like SG, Cabalas, and Guns/Ammo dealers for their benefit, and yours. The NRA didn't give them your info, someone stole your info from one of the retailers, and resold it to scammers. 2 things accomplished, take your money, piss you off enough to cancel your NRA membership feeling harassed. Don't be an idiot! Clinton loves shit like this!!

IT IS NOT THE NRA. If you call it back it is a message that starts off with the word NATIONAL being blocked out to just "NAL" then says RIFLE ASSOCIATION. It's to make you think it is the actual national rifle association. IT IS NOT! Call it back and see for yourself. No harm, you can always hang up. You don't have to talk and can always hang up. You won't get a human anyway.

Received 2 calls today, mid morning and night (would have been 10pm in VA with the 703 area code). Used to be a violation to robo (or collector) call before 8am and after 8pm or on a Sunday so you could report them to the Atty Gen of your state but sadly, not anymore. I never answer a number I don't recognize and most never leave message so they never get a call back. Eventually they give up. Don't even bother to answer - that just confirms someone is at that phone# and they will keep calling.

Caller ID said Urgent Alert. Answered phone. All was said was a name. I waited to hear what the urgent message was. They asked if the person was there. I told them they should not use Urgent Alert to get people to answer their phone. They said all they wanted to know was if the person was there. I would not let them know. They hung up.

It is not aggressive advertising. Either they use a robo call system where a volunteer likely would take call if you pick up, or they have lists and lists of printouts with your number on it. The person at the other end is likely a volunteer searching for answers to update payments, collect another years worth of member dues, etc. These folks get yelled at all day by people who dont appreciate or see the need for the call. Be nice...they are just there trying to do whay theyve been told. You likely wont be immediately taken off list unless database is updated and all phone lists have been revised. Be nice as it is a crappy, unforgiving job! -

Getting calls from this number several times a week even though I've been removed from the NRA's calling list. I've seen others online say they asked the NRA about this and they claim they told them this number doesn't belong to them. Well then, how'd they get our information? Either way, it's making me second guess my membership. I like what they stand for, I just don't like how freaking pushy they've been. :(

They are able to do this if you have ever been in jail and used the automated voice id systems they are monitoring your location and they may have a warrant to tap your cell phone. I have been dealing with these folks for a long time. they never give up. they are tricky. this info came from my lawyer. -

I get a call from this number at elast once a day. I answered it the first two times with no noise at all on the other end. Not sure what the deal is, but pulled the battery on my phone in case it was something I couldn't trust (that's how uncomfortable it made me). Keep getting the calls, just let it keep ringing, no messages left.

It's simply the NRA asking for more support to help fight the 'anti-gun' lobbyist in Washington. They were asking if it was possible to donate $75 in return they would mail a NRA edition tactical knife.
They aren't a scam, they've been fighting liberals for as long as there as been talk about gun control. If it wasn't for them, we might not have guns today. So lighten up. They aren't forcing anything, they are asking for help.
Called back and it is a discontinued number. Answered when they called again (next Day) Against Gun Violence...They buy and use fall lists of probable gun owners and NRA members...
