I've been using GTL since 2004 in order to stay in contact with my husband (who just did 7 yrs in prison) and my other friends and brothers. Its NOT A SCAM unless you're dumb enough to set a prepay account of $5-$500 to be credited to your phone by providing your credit/bank card # to allow u to "dial or say 5 to accept this prepaid call from so & so, if you do not wish to accept these prepaid calls simply hang up or dial 0, or if you wish to accept these calls you must enter abdominal funds to your prepaid acct dial 4"
Bottom line, you have to be stupid to fraud yourself to pull out your wallet and forcefully enter your 16 digit cc# and exp date. Next time listen to the recording bc it could be your son, father, granddaughter or friend reaching out to you bc you're the only phone number they memorize to dial collect on a pay phone.
Just because it's a routing number used in the prison and jail systems in the united States for caller id purposes, doesn't make it anymore fraudulent than your accusations and assumptions because the call was made by an inmate. Who knows, you might be the next inmate getting blocked from calling your own home because of your quick unthoughtful reaction

I put money on my phone so I can talk to my husband and I got 3 dropped calls and it charged me for them can u please put them back on the phone for me I would like to continue this service it's a great way to talk to ur loved ones but it shouldn't charge if the call is dropped so we will see

Keeps calling saying its a free five min phone call from a prison and a guy always saying, "hey baby,its me." Never no name. I havent excepted or nothing for i know no one in texas, let alone in prisom

the recorded voice said the call was a prepaid debit call, I am not sure, but prepaid debit means you are accepting the call to be debited to your phone bill, so your phone bill will be debited the charge of the call and these charges are very high. I hung up. I cannot afford a high phone bill.

Says call from a TX prison & can't understand
"Inmates" name but is female. Hung up & a few minutes later they called back. Oh- this is a COLLECT CALL & I would advise NOT to accept charges. Think it might be scheme to charge high prices per minute for these calls.
