   These people called saying I owed a debt to a company that was over $1000. I hung up on them, called the company they said I owed directly and I of course owed nothing to them. Straight up fraudulent company trying to scare people into giving them money for debts they actually don't have!

   This number just called me at 8:30pm on a school night and woke up my 8 month old daughter. I didn't answer so they called right back and when I did answer that time, they hung up on me.

   This so called "company" are nothing but SCUM BUCKETS that try to collect on old debts that have past the law of limitations, been taken care of, etc. But they call, don't leave a message and call from a variety of numbers. Ask them to send you a verification of the debt and they can't do that either. As far as continuous calling that is harassment. Go to this website in attempt to protect YOUR rights.

    This is Debt collection agency. They try and collect debts even when the debt has been paid in full or 15yrs old. I made the mistake of answering my phone when they called on many of their numbers. The person on the other end threatened me, told me they knew where I lived and where I work. They said they were going to call anytime as many times a day they wanted to and I can't do anything. I was threatened with a law suit. When I told them not to call my number the man called me trash who doesn't pay my bills. I do not answer their calls or any number I don't know. They continue to call and harass me all hours of the night and day.

    Useless company, the bottom of the barrel when it comes to employees. Someday there will be a huge lawsuit against them, until that time I guess we will all have to put up with this scum company "Portfolio Recovery". Buying old debts should be against the law, if the original company does want to spend time and speak with their debtors then it is not very important and we all pay for that irresponsible way to run a business. The law needs to be changed and observed, this place of so called business is one step below a loan shark demanding their payment. At least a loan shark has the hutzpah to send someone out to end the torture instead of continually calling a phone number that once was owned by someone else. They know who they are looking for and know where to find them.

    Well for those who are not familiar with portfolio Recovery debt collection, let me lay out what they do. These guys buy leads wholesale and don't care much whether the debt is current, statute barred or even paid off. Their tactics are shall we say in the grey area of the law. So as you might have figured out by now, they know all the Federal loopholes. So if you don't want to hide from them and give them as good as they give, your best bet is your state attorney's office. By the way, settling with these guys for a discounted payment is not going to help you any, their letter of settlement is for their debt only. That will not affect the original debt holder, nor the one that they will sell your information to – yup, they'll sell it as soon as they finish getting paid.

    These guys are meant to be some company called Portfolio Recovery according to a quick google search. I have no idea why they would be ringing me.. I am certainly not in any arrears. Should I trust this call?
