I have been receiving this call as well, and clearly they have got a hold of some data. They asked me for my bank routing and account number to pay remaining balance on one of my closed citicards. I refused and warned them to not call again.
If you get a call for balance payment, do not give the details. You can call the number on the back of your citicard or go online to your account and pay it off.Doc replied 2018-05-20 01:53:50Same bs I getMadi replied 2018-09-23 17:42:07I gave them all my information they charge me $100. God almighty gave me a warning to check the number online. I saw all this Negative complaint. I call my bank right away and Shut the card ASAP (on pending charges) they sending me a NEW ONE. Thank you JesusMadi replied 2018-09-23 17:45:10They told me they were Bank of AmericaCrissy replied 2019-04-10 20:19:11Whoever is doing this IS spoofing the CITIbank number because I called it back and I spoke with a legitimate CITI lady and she looked up with my phone number and said she had no idea why anyone would be calling me and that as I said, I have no CITI accounts... they are spoofing a real number here.
Allison replied 2019-09-17 02:16:38They asked me for my social security number because they couldn't find any accounts under my name or phone number. I'm not that naive and told them I wouldn't be giving them any more information. I contacted my credit cards instead and double checked that all my payments went through. No problems. This is fraudulent. -
I got a call on my cell phone from this number out of Kansas City MO. I did not pick up and no message was left. When I called the number back, the message said they were calling from Citi and wanted me to give them my account number. I hung up.
I contacted Citi and the call was not from them. Do not give anyone who calls you your account number. This is a scam. -
This is from an Organized Stalking Network also known as “gang stalking.” A group of cowards who’s handlers live at 21820 Ridgedale in Oak Park, Michigan 48237. They have committed shameless crimes against good people. The two handlers are Gloria Jean Cannon Wess and her son John Cannon. They hack phones and bank accounts. Two individuals who envy and are jealous of others and try desperately to bring others down due to Narcissistic Personality Disorder. The two cowards hide behind their cowardly organized stalking group who drive up and down the street all day in front of people’s houses watch and follow them all day because they have no lives and envy people that do. These people are being paid by a few crooked law enforcement, military personnel and those who work for the government. I would like to add that the shameless behavior of a chosen few does not represent the brave men and women in blue and those who serve our country.

Called them back, they wanted me to give them my account number, I have NO Citibank card, then they wanted ANY CC number. WTH....scammers
-
-
They called at 9:30am on a Sunday. First of all, no credit card company would call on a Sunday and second, I don’t have any Citibank cards so jokes on them. Plus if it’s that important someone, even a credit card company, will leave a message. Idiots!
-
Called back and after hearing their pitch I know it was a scam that’s when i disclosed I work for law enforcement and told them I had no citi bank account they couldn’t verify any information so I told them I need a name and contact of a supervisor they almost shit themselves.
-
Multiple calls, with Citibank caller ID. No message. Make the mistake and called back and an automated system answers and your only option is to enter your citibank card number and the last 4 digits of your SSN. No other options work. That's not right. They're phishing for personal information. It's scary how sophisticated the scam is.
-
Calls 2-3 times everyday. Never leave a message.
-
Somehow got my name and number and kept calling all day. I had to block this number. They said they are Citibank I don’t have Citibank card. I told them I don’t have but they kept calling. Strange.
-
Called and left NO MESSAGE. If it was a real Citi call they would have left a message.
-
Call related to Calls pretending to be government, businesses, or family and friends received in catonsville, Maryland. Calling with recorded message (robocalls)
-
they call me every day a good 1-3 times sometimes, answer once couldnt understand the man had a very heavy asian accent, all i could put together was some sort of owing money on a citi bank card and asked for my ssn or my bank number, told him i was at work and couldn't talk he persisted that it would take a few seconds hung up on him, and still keeps calling me.
-
number said it is citibank. caller identified self as citibank, said account was past due. I knew it was not. I looked at my account online, it is current, not past due. SCAM CALLER!
-
Received a call and they hung up on answering. Called the number back after checking it online. Gave the agent a number to look up (she already had it from caller ID) when she asked for my name I said "My first name is Phill. I'm not sure this isn't a scam, so you tell me what my last name is. She complied and was able to accurately describe the accounts I do have with Citibank.
It's possible that a scammer is spoofing this number and hoping for first call marks. The number is genuine.
Note: I don't in general recommend dealing through caller ID numbers. Always use the number on the back of your card to reach out and they will transfer you to the right place. And I absolutely will not give PII out on a call to me from a number I don't know. -

Calls at least 3 to 7 times a day won't stop. Threatens you your family. 7 days a week I put up with this. Like they say if you want us to stop calling it is going to cost. They want all my banking info my credit card numbers my wife's info if she works if I work. Wow it just happened again they call all the time. No one can help. At least get the app so it doesn't ring.
Paula replied 2018-06-07 23:15:34Yes same here they are very aggressive and won't stop -
Guy asks for me (real name), sounds Asian (Phillipino accent), I say no I'm not him, says he'll try back again another time...funny thing is if he's playing the part of Citibank, I NEVER gave my cell # that he called to.
-
Due to recent financial hardship, I am behind on my payments to Citibank. Wondering if these calls are instigated by them? I only picked up once and it was a rude recording wanting to lower my interest rate to 6%
-
Claimed they were from Citibank calling in an attempt to collect a debt. I hung up on them. I don't even have a Citibank account. Don't know how these people sleep at night.
-
Called my cell about 8:30, wanting Citi bank account number that I don't even have! Did not leave a message. Called back and got this recording, asking for unknown account number.
-
This is NOT a number for Home Depot "behind payments." I don't have any charges on my home depot card and have not purchased anything on their card in years. This comment is obviously left by one of the scammers.
-
SCAM FOR CITIBANK
-
Never any Citibank Accounts and the only Home Depot was pre-Bankruptcy, almost ten years ago.
-
This number has been calling my 9 yo daughter's cell phone for several days. I finally answered it, lo & behold, it's a foreign person with a really bad connection. I repeated numerous times my 9 yo doesn't have any business with them causing her to get flustered and hang up.
-
My caller ID showed just CITI; no message was left. I found this quite odd, as I do not have a account of any type with Citi Bank. I call this a SCAM!
-
This person or entity feels it necessary to call me every day. I have yet to pick up the phone but seeing as I don't know anyone in this area code, it's clearly some sort of scam.
-
No ring call. Called back, recording stated it's a Citi bank asking for CC number and other sensitive information.
Got to the operator, who stated it's Citi collections with phone number 1-866-... -
The 816 number is a cell phone. I texted back the person they were looking for was in State prison. Let's see if they try again!
-
I called Citibank and it IS an affiliate number. Something about restructuring an account (that means they want to sell you more 'products').
I told Citibank that the recording is so suspicious that it screams scam. The operator said she will let the proper channels know about this.
If you ever have any fears about a scam, call the official number of the company and verify!!!!!! -
Called multiple times, finally left voicemail saying it wasn't a sales call & it was very important I call. I called the number left, which was a 866 number. Immediately asked to input my credit card # before I could speak to anyone. Different company name also.
-
They called my cell, I did not answer since I do not know the number. No message was left
-
Received 3 calls from this number, left a voicemail saying its Citi bank, not sales and to call back. I don't have any open citi bank credit cards.
-
Repeated calls,no reply when asnwered.
id shown as Citi not correct
-

It seemed shady but they did make a payment on my Home Depot account -- it is confusing because it is for the Citibank Consumer Credit Card through Home Depot. Home Depot is not sending out the first bill, for some reason, and so Citi is having to call all the customers directly to get payments made. They had all of my Home Depot acct info. Ask to make a payment online and then you don't have to give any info out on the phone.
Kev Man replied 2017-05-05 21:10:52It is a legit number. However, the customer service practices of that company needs a serious overhaul. -
They have my name, then say, hello and several times, never leaving a message, then hang up...if I call back,I get automated system asking for details..this is not Citi bank..I called Citibank from a number that I have for customer service. DO NOT TALK TO THESE PEOPLE.

I keep getting calls from this number daily. I've answered twice, but have been hung up on both times. From this time forward I will ignore the call.
-
Warning caller id will say "Citi" and some guy will claim that you have an outstanding amount that you can reconcile over the phone. I received this call and I am not even a Citibank customer!
-
FRAUD! People who are not from the citibank. They want your data, and then steal your money. Be sure to submit any data, and called the police.
If this phone number keeps calling you, the answer should be yes!
