The phone hobbyist said his name was Tom and was asking for a donation to some police organization.
But the group was not a 501(c)(3) and he could not say where or what % of the funds collected actually went to the cause he describe. The funds do go to pay himself and the company he works for a salary as well as those who hired him.
I do not believe this group is legit.
They are also using spoofed numbers to get by call blockers and will not honor asked to be removed from their calling list.
All the indications of a scam outfit.
