  1. Carl reported Fraud prevention service via my bank with the number 8772538964 as Cost trap

MY BANK CONFIRMED THAT THEY ARE A SCAM TODAY. They call saying fraud has been committed on your card. Then they tell you they stopped payment on that charge. They ask for your card and pin number so that they can stop your credit card. DON'T GIVE IT TO THEM. Then they ask you to key in that information on your phone. DO NOT DO THIS! CALL YOUR BANK. REPORT IT. ASK THEM TO REVIEW YOUR ACCOUNT.

  2. That Guy reported 'Fraud Detection Center' with the number 8772538964 as trustworthy number

Strange toll free number shows up in my voicemail, saying scary things, I thought it was a scam! Until my card didn't work. I gave the number a call. They didn't ask for anything except zip code and they knew my most recent transactions and it was an easy to use automated system. I told that automated system no personal information and they did not ask for payment. I do not believe this is a scam but instead is a little-known and rather legit fraud detection 3rd party . I contacted my bank, they knew of this company and verified what this number told me as well.

  3. Scam stopper reported Unity Bank /877.253.8964 with the number 8772538964 as Harassment calls

This is a scam. You'll notice a few people keep saying that anyone who reports this as fake "has an agenda", but I think it's obvious that THEY are the ones with an agenda. Do not call this number. Do not speak with them. If you are concerned, pull out your debit card and call the fraud number printed on the back or walk into your bank directly. Do not call the number they provided. There is nothing for anyone reporting this as fraud to gain, there is everything to gain from the people who keep posting that you need to call the number. Be smart. Listen to your gut. Don't call the number.

Yes, Hello I am getting calls from this number and I have had enough of this BS. Please if you can shut this site down forever would be a great comfort.

Lol I work there it’s a 3rd party fraud prevention call center.

Some bank tellers are unfortunately uninformed, so if you just ask them for the fraud department number they’ll have you call us or card services which is the same call center.

It is fraud and I am quite concerned as to how they got my work number and part of my card number. Not even my bank has my work number. So I'm going to cancel my card and have my bank issue me a new one.

This is legitimate. I got a message from 877-253-8964 (4 days ago, and I had not listened to my voicemails during that time) and they said a hold had been put on my card ending in XXXX (matched) and they gave me a case number. I called my bank and I asked if this was real and they said YES. The rep even gave me the phone number, to verify it was the same as the number that called me, and it was. I called the number back and entered in my case number. A rep responded and said they had suspended my credit card while they checked out unusual activity. But once they got me on the phone, they asked my name, the last 4 of my SSN and the expiration date of my credit card. Between the time they left the message and the time I called back, they had determined it was not fraud and released my card. The majority of the issue was when I was getting errors when trying to purchase something online and I repeated several times. Despite the error message, the transactions did go through to process, however the fraud company only allowed one to actually hit my account. Thank goodness! Now to call the company and let them know their process is broken.
  4. FTC DNC Spamlist reported number 8772538964 as Spam Call

Call related to Other received in BARTOW, Florida.

  5. Tetsuo reported Gulf Winds Fraud Protection with the number 8772538964 as Ping Call

A missed call was received from 8772538964 and a voicemail was left which I listened to later. The voicemail contents were puzzling: Gulf Winds Credit Union is not my financial institution (I've never had any dealings with this Gulf Winds), the tel# they called isn't even known to my financial institution and the voicemail was addressed to someone else. Now I could see if this human error and an incorrect tel# was dialed, but this was a 'robocall' and I figure the possibility of errors should be greatly reduced.

By the way, my financial institution has an 'in-house' fraud protection department; and has contacted me several times in the past, mostly when I made purchased away from my area to make sure I was actually the one making the purchases.

If your financial institution is utilizing a '3rd party' fraud protection company, I'd check your bank's privacy policy about that.

  6. Pseudonymvlc reported Fraud prevention service via my bank with the number 8772538964 as trustworthy number

Trustworthy number - saved me from an extra $119 online purchase charge. You don’t have to call them back, just call your bank.

  7. dusty b reported Fraud Protection with the number 8772538964 as trustworthy number

third party fraud protection for my bank. my card was declined online and I had received a missed call from this number. I had it marked as a spam call, so they were unable to leave a message. after looking up the number I realized it had to be about my card. called and since I didn't have a "claim" number, they asked for my full name and last 4 of my social. they then read off recent transaction amounts I had made with my card to make sure they were legitimate. Once I said yes to those, they took the the hold off my card.

  8. JD reported Fraud prevention service via my bank with the number 8772538964 as trustworthy number

Got a few calls from this number but never answered as i don't answer 800 numbers as a general rule. Today they called again and i was tired of them calling so i was going to give then a piece of my mind. Answered call and it was automated saying potential fraud on my acct. Called my bank and asked them about it they said yes that number is a 3rd party fraud protection program we have. So i called the number all they needed was to verify my name and zip and they had all my recent transactions. We went over 3 that they flagged. All was good and legit but I'm glad they are on the lookout. This company is legitimate and real NOT a scam. So please don't believe all these idiots saying its a scam. Be smart call your bank if you are unsure. Good luck be safe out there.

  9. Jess reported Fraud Protection with the number 8772538964 as trustworthy number

I've had 2 calls from this number on 2 different occasions. Both times they've informed me about fraud detected on my debit card. Both times it had been legit. They didn't ask me for anything but my zip code and they already had my info and that of my card. Both times I verified with my bank and it was true that fraud had been detected. If it hadn't been for that call someone would have probably emptied out my bank account before I noticed.

  10. Jane reported Fraud Protection with the number 8772538964 as trustworthy number

This is legit. Got an email from fraud protection service to call 877.253.8964 but I called the number on the back of my debit card instead and there was an attempt to use my card at a railroad station some 1500 miles away.
