Some elderly-sounding scammer called saying I had tax debt and that I needed to call the "Tax Resolution Center" or something to fix it, and that it was "imperative I call right away to take advantage of some new programs". I'm about 99.999% sure I don't owe any money in taxes and if I do, I'm 100% sure they would send me a letter to my legal address and not just call me from a regular phone number with instructions to then call the person back at a second number.
This is very obvious fraud and you should ignore these people. The government doesn't communicate via the phone. If they want you to know something, they'll send you a letter and the only way you'll get calls/texts/emails is if they're sending you a confirmation, receipt, or form to fill out and submit in person or via a .gov website.
The government will never call you like this - unless you have a meeting with someone in person, and they tell you they're going to call you later.
