This was a legitimate call. Spark Energy, operating as Major Energy in the PPL service area, was calling to confirm that I had shopped and changed electricity suppliers. I however called them back from an anonymous number and refused to provide any personal details. Whatever you do, never say the word "yes" or anything resembling "I agree or ok. Hope this helps. PPL isn't going to shut off electricity in any situation if you continue to pay your electricity bill. They'll merely switch you to their inhouse program unless the original supplier time term expires in which case, you may be renewed at a higher rate if you aren't paying attention. .
