Received a call on landline from 927-497-1400. Left message saying SOMEONE at this number had an appointment with the SSA. No one at this number has an appointment with the SSA and no one at this number is on SS.

No, this is not a legitimate number (it pops up on Caller ID as "American Voice." The Social Security Administration does not call people to remind them of upcoming appointments. Please be careful.

Received call at 1:21 this afternoon, did not recognize the number, caller ID said it was from Texas. Shortly after reading the comments on this site my phone had a voice mail. It was from this number and it was Social Security Administration confirming an up coming appointment. This is a trust worthy number.

Received a call from this number, CallerID showed "American Voice".
I have no dealings with anybody in area code 972, so did not answer the phone. White Pages reverse number search has the number listed to a private individual in Dallas county, TX.
Looking at the comments here, some of them are old and out of date.
Claims that calls are genuine and about Social Security this and that are not correct today, because nobody in my household has any appointments or issues with Social Security... and if we did have any issues with Social Security, we would be going to a non-appointment drop-in local office that is nowhere near Texas.

My advice is to not answer the phone, but if you do to disregard the call and NEVER give any information over the phone, NEVER respond to any requests by going to a website, etc. etc.

I let go to voice mail. Was a recording from SS saying if I needed extra help with my drug plan to call the 800 number. The scammer is using a real recording from SS. They also must have a list of people turning 65 or already are 65. I know SS doesn't usually call you and normally corresponds by mail.

7/19/17 - This was a confirmation call reminding me of a phone appointment with Social Security the next day. There was a toll-free number I could call to cancel or change the date but it all seems on the up-and-up.

They asked for my ID. Then they asked for my bank. They are scammers. No SSA employees would ask questions without first notifying you in your online or postal address.

I didn't answer since I did not recognize the #. They left a message stating they were from "Office of Disability Adjudication and Review" and said I had a court date in two days at 2pm. To arrive 30 min early and gave no location except for the city. Said that something I was mailed would have the address- SKETCHY!! I tried calling back and could not dial them back. This is a SCAM

Many scam calls reported over SEVERAL YEARS. Yet these low life's are still in "business"!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Telecom Industry - way past time to put a stop to these endless theft/scam attempts. THE INDUSTRY CAN STOP THIS AND WON'T! And why??????

This number 9724971400 called and left a message saying that I was to attend a court date but didn't tell me where it just gave me a time. All three of my lawyers said that there was nothing. so i called ever court in my area and none of them said I had an appointment or hearing. don't trust this number at all. I'm sure that they will call back to get info from me because they wouldn't have left a message. Again don't trust that number!

Received automated call sayin it was a reminder of hearing for ss..I called back and the caller was not accepting phone calls at the time. So looked up number and it is a Texas number, yet the message said from st Louis, I live near neither place..it's a scam, called ss office and thy had no records of a hearing nor did my attorney..scam

This was a legitimate reminder call about a prescription drug benefit for my brother. They left a message, but since it is a robocall, you cannot call them back, which is why it does not appear to be legitimate. They did leave a number for me to return the call, which I did and got the information I needed.
