   I also got multiple calls from them. It was obvious to me that this was a scam, but I played around with them for over 3 hours in total, just because I could and to waste their time. At first they wanted $100.000, as I hesitated, they suddenly lowered the maximum amount I could buy to $30.000 and finally it was around $8.000. All for Twitter stocks which, according to them, would go through the roof because they have "special" information that Twitter has already been acquired by Google and that this will be announced in the coming weeks. While this could indeed happen, the company itself is a complete scam, as John already explained. They wanted me to send the money to a financial agent, related with the Bank of China, because otherwise it would'nt be legal, yeah right... Do not trust them, this is not a typical backyard scam, my caller was extremely well prepared and highly intelligent

   I received various phone calls and mails from people supposedly associated with a company called Mendelssohn White.
   
   The callers suppressed their telephone number and could not provide me with another legitimate number to call back because they were “always busy.”
   
   The callers claimed that Mendelssohn White “is an employee-owned, independent investment company located in Singapore.” They also told me that the company was founded in 2005. In actual fact, however, the internet domain: www.mendelssohn-white.com was registered by proxy (Privacy Protect) in 2015: http://whois.domaintools.com/mendelssohn-white.com
   
   The e-mails that I received were sent from an untraceable source so that all the communication is concealed.
   
   I asked my “broker” and “portfolio manager” whether Mendelssohn-White was licensed and regulated in Singapore by the financial authority and was assured that this was the case. However, this turned out to be a blatant lie. When I called the financial regulatory authority in Singapore (Monetary Authority of Singapore) they told me that they have never heard of Mendelssohn White or any of the people that supposedly are executives there.    I then sent an acquaintance of mine to visit the company at their supposed premises namely Singapore Land Tower, 50 Raffles Place, 048623 Singapore but he was told that there never was a tenant by that name at that location.
   
   Meanwhile I kept on receiving telephone calls and mails from my “broker” and “portfolio manager” asking me to transfer 100.000 USD to another entity that supposedly acts as a “clearing house” for Mendelssohn White.
   
   It is clear that this is just another boiler room scam. I have also posted this message here: http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/mendelssohn-white/internet/mendelssohn-white-boiler-room-scam-singapore-singapore-1353598 I would be glad for a legitimate company representative to get in touch with me and to explain their dubious business practices but, of course, that will never happen.
   
   If you get a phone call from agents of “Mendelssohn White” and are asked to transfer money to them, you should record the conversation and get in touch with local law enforcement.
