My elderly mother was called *five* times today with the same automated message, each time saying that "the IRS was filing a lawsuit against" - (pause) - "YOU" - pause...
After she played me one of these messages, I could tell it was a fraud as soon as I heard that, because any government agency or debt collector is supposed to say your actual name (or part of your social security number), not a generic "YOU" !
My poor mom was freaking out all day when this happened, since I couldn't get back to her until late in the day.
Shame on these fraudulent business owners that prey on the elderly ! I reported them to the government website that the previous person mentioned. -

The caller was identifying himself as a Federal Investigation employee of the IRS.
I clicked on debt collection company because there was no option for this.
I'm her son. I verified what they told my mom that she had an arrest warrant against her so I asked Mr. Johnson & his super to provide me with my mom's last 4 or birthday. They said they weren't allowed to do that. I told them that I was reporting them to the FBI and did so.
