This was a telemarketing cold call for Hilton Honors members. They wanted me to pay $199 TODAY RIGHT NOW to secure a spot in a hotel in Vegas. The tradeoff was "A 2-hour tour of the hotel."
To me, that reeks of timeshare scam. I told them to call back tomorrow and then searched the internet for the phone number. I'll be asking for the details of the offer in writing. I don't know that this is a timeshare scam, but it really sounds like one. -

"Hilton" sunk-cost cold call scam. They promise a special discount to one of their hotels, but want to charge your credit card up front "to secure the offer". To get your money back, you would have to attend a time-share presentation.

It is Hilton trying to sell a short vacation to one of their resorts along with a cruise. They give you a good price but it is a timeshare scam. In order to get their deal you have to go to one of the time share meetings. Do not waste your time answering the phone. They repeatedly call about 3 times a day.

After recieving numerous calls, i decide to pick up to see what it is.The lady called with a very happy tone asking me about when was the last time my family and i went to Florida. Then she pushed me to commit to booking a 4 days and 3 nights stay in FL for $240 at one of their resorts that usually cost $200 a night. Sounds great and I'm interested. But the moment she mentioned as long as I attend a 2 hour time share, I'll get my money back plus a $200 towards a future stay at any Hilton. All i need to do is give my credit card number right now to secure a spot. That's when she lost my interest. She persist with other benefits and offers. I told her i want it on paper so email the offer to me. She ignored my request. Then I told her that I'm broke and living on welfare. She quickly ended our conversation.thanks Hilton... I'm a Hilton Member and this us what you reward me with? Harassment?
