Claims to be from the IRS and advises not to ignore this "extremely time sensitive matter". Asks to call enforcement officer Heather Grey @ 415-251-8730 before further legal allegations are taken.
Obviously a scam. The IRS will only make contact via USPS certified letter. Poor English/grammar should be the first clue. -

On Wednesday 7/9/2014 at 12:10 pm EST, a person supposedly named Heather Gray called and left a message on my home answering machine stating that she was calling on behalf of the IRS and that it was urgent that I return the call. I returned the call at 7 p.m. on 7/10/2014 EST. Danielle Martin answered the call. In the phone conversation this person stated that I had unpaid back taxes totaling $2983.47 and since I had not answered the two written demands from the IRS on 5/24/2014 and 6/19/2014 (which I never received), the IRS assumed I was a tax evader. She stated that and Internal Revenue officer would be coming to arrest me in two hours when the warrant was prepared. She stated that after the arrest and warrant the amount that would be due would rise to over $20,000.00. I asked if there was any way to pay so that this could be rectified. She provided me a number to call for Kenny Webster at 415-935-7578. I called that number and Kenny stated that I needed to take cash to CVS or Rite-Aid to do a bill payment. I was to call him back within a half hour when I was at the pharmacy to get the account number. After I hung up, I checked both the number on-line and complaints and warnings on both numbers appeared. I plan to also inform the authorities tomorrow as well.

Recieved a recorded message from "Heather Gray" stating she was from the IRS and not to ignore this message or legal action would be taken. I called back and got some Indian on the phone that couldnt speak english telling me that I could go to jail for 2 years. I told him to send me to jail and included "F bombs" with every other work I said to him. He hung up on me. Definatly a scam call.

Obvious scam: the message I received was automated -IRS does not leave automated messages - grammar was off - language/terms were not the language/terms that someone involved with taxes would use - IRS would send multiple letters via USPS including certified letters before resorting to the telephone and then it wouldn't be a canned message. Phone number is out of Novato CA - no IRS office there but the Novato Police department is aware of the scam and so is the IRS. The scam, which targets immigrants threatens legal action and sometimes deportation. I think my phone number was picked because I have a foreign name.

Received a complaint about this # as well as 415-251-4089. Chris Taylor, who said he was from the IRS, stated that my client needed to pay 3909.45 in back taxes. When I called them and told them that I was investigating a complaint, the person Officer ???????? hung up quickly. Needless to say this is a scam.

This Lady with an Indian Accent has called our house every morning at approx. 7:40AM CST-- saying it is the IRS and we should take down this Officers name and number or we will face legal consequences. From CA the time would be 5:40 AM and i do not believe the IRS starts their day at this time. As a Business Person and solid individual i do not have any such issues. I told her if in fact she is the IRS - to send me a certified mail copy of her issue. When i pressed her several times to ask what ISSUE this involved., she surely could not say. They are very rude - argumentative and ridiculous. Terrible they are allowed to solicit and harass. I also informed her that she should not make such threats about legal actions and that i did not believe her whatsoever. TEchnically if anyone has such a serious issue - surely telephone solicitation is not the method to employ. Whoever is holding themselves out to be the IRS and making these threats need to be stopped and reported and perhaps shipped back to their country of origin.

It was a recorded voicemail identifying themselves as "Heather Grey from the IRS" asking me to call back before legal action proceeds. I am a CPA and am well aware that the IRS does not start a correspondence with a random, recorded phone call. I did not call back, but this is an untrustworthy call.

I also received this call on my answering machine stating she was officer Heather Grave (or Gray?), from the IRS and that the issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. She goes on to say "do not disregard this message and do return the call before we take legal allegations against you. " She ends the call with "good bye and take care". I obviously did not call back as I think it is a scam.
