I applied for a position on Craigslist and received an email back from Maryanne Melton with FTB Group INC. She said I needed to go to their website to apply for the job. The link she gave me was http://ftbestaffing.org/secure/2128095 I went to that site and was inputting my information and said I needed to verify my phone number. Immediately after, I got a phone call saying it was to verify my Craigslist account. Since I was not creating a Craigslist account I looked up the actual company FTB Group Inc and can not find any information for them. Sounds like a scam to me.

I didn't go to that site because any legit company would have https:// as a leader, not http://. Instead, I did a search and it brought me here. Thank you for your post. It helped me to decide to not get scammed. -

This is the Craigslist phone verification number that calls you with a code to validate your Craigslist posting. Not sure why anyone would think it is a scam.
goatman replied 3/8/15, 7:41 PMit is from Craigslist to verify a posting you put on. -

Not sure if it is real or not but I do Know that I have never went through anything like this for a job and I have never had to give such personal info about myself unless I have already spoken to someone in person. If anyone reads this please think twice because most employers will conduct their own background checks after they have already interviewed you and you should always be able to find the website if they are a legit company. I believe this is a scam so the only thing they received from me was my name and my resume and hopefully they wont be able to do anything with that. I hope that this will help someone

Britt reported Tsp staffing with the number 4153660260 as Cost trap
I applied for a job on Craigslist and got an email asking me for my name and phone number to start the screening process. The minute I entered my phone number this number called me and gave me a Craigslist code that I was supposed to put into the website. It made me nervous so I hung up. I'm pretty sure this is a scam bc I googled the company tsp staffing and the name of the person the email came from and couldn't find a thing. So dumb.

Got scammed on a unit I sold on Ebay. just keep getting screwed all around. 415-366-0260 Is Dave Perras. Also a woman named Kathy. There address is 702 Mangrove Ave #221 Chico CA 95926. They bought a KVM to do remote work from me. Said it was damaged when arrived, so sent them a money order for $43 dollars for the part. Now I have to fork out a refund through eBay. Unit was never broken. This was on 10/1/2014. Beware. They are fraudulent people. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with these people.

This number called me after I selected to take a survey for a job posting I had sent a resume to via craigslist. It wanted me to take a credit screening after I submitted my address...Obviously this is a shady number otherwise it would be associated to the website I visited which was http://ifcegroupinc.com/code/3065200. The verification email came from a Whitney Dickson at
IFC Staffing Group Inc. The website is not real and you get no responses back from their contact list. I am crossing my fingers that nothing crazy starts happening. Its always a good thing to check your credit report...just through a recognized company. -

I applied for a job on indeed.com a few days back and didn't think anything of it when I received an email from this company asking me to fill out an online application. But once you get there, they have to confirm that your phone number is real, and then try and make you buy a $1 credit report and sign up for a $29.99/month service. I didn't do it, I'm just hoping that there isn't anything that they can do with the small amount of info that they managed to get from me before I realized it was a scam.
