Just received a call from this number insisting on me verifying my address. First they refused to remove me from the calling list. Then they stated that if I refused to comply that my insurance would be canceled. They were not willing to tell me what insurance company I'm with, but it IS Blue Cross Blue Shield. I just called BCBS fraud department and left a message. As this seems to be a case where BCBS insured phone numbers and possibly other information may have been compromised, I suggest anyone receiving these threatening calls report your experience to BCBS.

This number called me twice today. I answered the second time. A very foreign woman's voice, citing my name, and saying her records showed I have knee and back pain. I don't! I told her that and to remove me from her list. I'm bothered that she had my name and phone number.

My cell phone rang five times, the caller; 646-524-6575, in roughly a three hour time frame. On the most recent occasion, it rang as I was reading these very comments!
One Hundred Fifty Thousand years ago, starting when I was in my Twenties, I worked for both telephone companies. Yes! Only BOTH Telephone Companies! AT&T, also known as The Bell System. And General Telephone, with Sylvania as the Parent Co.. An Operator would instruct the Called Party to simply hang up on these calls, and to NOT engage the Caller in any sort of conversation. If the caller can get you to talk at all, even if you only say; "Leave me THE HELL alone!" or something even more colorful, you've given him permission to proceed. (That's just basic Telemarketing. I sold for Pacific Tool & Supply, L.A., and Haba Arrays Contenental Software, Van Nuys. If you're familiar with either one of these, you're gettin up thar, Ol'Timer, and/or, we worked together, at some point) And back ON the Point. was before Caller ID, so the call had to be answered in order to know if it was prank or not. This morning, the first four calls (all from that number, with no ID) were allowed to "Ring Out". My Son simply didn't answer. When the one call after that came in, I was on this web-site and could see clearly who it was. I hit "Ignore". And started to write this. You are so patient! I have a good reason for all of this.
I am also on the National Registry, Do Not Call List. They will fine callers who knowingly "tresspass" $500, and almost every potential violator is well aware. The problem is, of course, FUNDING! Just a math problem.
STILL! Try to keep track of the times/dates/conversation (if any), and report it! DO NOT!, give any vital or personal info to ANYONE, except those you know. It's not good to be Paranoid, but it is important to keep in mind, that accessing your Wi-Fi, computer, telephone are all pretty simple. Repeated daily calls, goes to answering machine (mine) and never leaves message. When I tried to call back, says unable to reach the number dialed. Scam. DNCall network is worthless. I get at least 2 unwanted worthless calls from research, sales or etc daily. Unbelievable

Some lady not American hard to understand wanting to update my health insurance. She told me hang on then transfered it to another woman who said I need to update your name and credit card. I told her are you fuck8ng kidding I'm military have military insurance and I know your a scam call she said oh shxx and hung up. And people wonder why we are tired of people from other counties if for no other reason then them trying to scam us 24/7. Between that and the you got a virus on your computer from Microsoft calling. I don't own a computer and they hang up... and I have never had blue cross shield ever!!!! The name on the call is nyny Lewis sabra. It showed a name . Yes spam cause when you call back it's disconected. Phone bank.

Several calls a day, callers have strong foreign accent, say they need to verify my information. When asked what call is about, specifically why they are calling, caller says "I am your insurance, Aetna." I have told them "no you're not - don't call again!" Callers are insistent.
Also saying with Medicare verification with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield ... For your Diabetic supplies.

13 calls today!!! same senario as everyone else. Don't want to bother you with the details but Finally on the last call I said i was the police Dept and they hung up. Hopefully that will be the end of it. But PLEASE DO NOT EVER EVER give out ANY of your info to ANYONE claiming to be from Insurance,Healthcare etc. They all have been trained in the HIPPA laws and KNOW NOT to ever make calls like this. Please warn your older parents and grandparents that this scam is out there because they wouldn't think twice about helping their insurance company out! and Definetely report to BC/BS because they are using THEIR company as a front for their operation. The law does not take kindly to this!

The caller claimed to be calling from Medicare. She wanted to 'verify' information but she was indeed trying to get information from me. She asked for details of medical records, insurance information, doctor's information, etc. She said that she is with some youth health department.
Totally Fed Up replied 9/30/14, 2:48 PMI have gotten these calls too! Today they have called me over 15 times. I keep telling them to stop calling me but they keep insisting I must update my medicare records. I just want them to stop!! -

A young man with a heavy east Indian accent phoned yesterday, saying he was from my insurance company, Blue Cross Blue Shield. From the caller ID, I knew he was calling from New York, which is not where BCBS operates from. I told him my company handles all dealings with insurance, but he persisted. I hung up.
LEC replied 8/18/14, 1:26 PMI have had the same type calls and they will not take off the list -- this is a PHISHING SCAM!!! I'm going to now block this number via my provider -

Says he is from MY insurance company but cannot tell me the name of my insurance. ***RED FLAG*** He then tells me is doing a verification of my records and wants my date of birth. *** RED FLAG *** When I advise him I do not release any personal info over the phone, the caller immediately hangs up. Then a couple hours later I get another call from them starting the same conversation...grrr. I put this number as auto block on my phone! Watch out.
