Yes, one of the names they use is Portfolio Recovery but also several other names. They also use #'s 757-251-0504 and 757-251-0484 and im sure several others. they get a hold of old bills/accounts that have already been paid by individuals all the way back from a decade ago if not longer, knowing that most people cannot remember minute details from that long ago and more than likely do not still have copies of the bills, cancelled checks, etc. Next time they call, answer the phone, tell them firmly not to call you anymore, you are aware they are running a fraudulent operation and that many people have already reported them to the FBI's Frauds and Investigations Dept. Then, HANG UP. If you dont,you will be subjected to cursing and threats and then they will hang up on you. PS:if you decide to even give these a--h---s the time of day, you will notice how they say they have a deal for you(sic), and that you do not have to pay the full amount of such and such a bill if you send them X-amount of dollars. This is the main way they make their money. Good Luck All.

Unfortunately you're dealing with the low life of the debt collection industry. These guys buy old statute barred debt leads in a whole sale transaction and hire minimum wage callers to try to collect 10 to 30 cents on the dollar. Since the ones actually interacting with people don't know what they’re doing, all they can do is follow the script writers’ orders. Since most of these outfits deal in gray area of the law, they know most of the Federal loopholes. If you really want to get them off your back, must go after them via your state's authorities.

These people keeps calling me everyday. I tell them everytime they call the person they are calling for is not here. They keep hanging up the phone and are very rude. When I call them back and ask who I'm speaking with and the name of the company. They give me false names and company and hang on me again.

I was told i owe a debt from directtv from a town i never even lived at my entire life. When i told the lady on the phone she mistook me for someone one else she had the nerve to yell at me that i was a damn lier and deadbeat. I called her i f__king bi--ch and hung up on her . Don't ever give out personal info about yourself over the phone to scammers

Received a call this morning, but they left no message. If they do call you again, do not give out any of your identifying/personal information. Ask them for the name of their company, their first name and last name, their direct telephone number and you will have your attorney contact them. Or just block their number and ignore. Seems as though from the other comments, that they are phishing for information for identity theft.

Several calls from this number. The persons on the phone are very rude and pushy. Requesting SSN's, bank routing numbers, debit card numbers but were never quite able to explain to me what/when my debt was. As I type this, another call came through from this number. Again, no message was left.

The woman called to advise me I had a debt. No further information was provided. She asked for the last four of my Social Security Number. Wanted information FROM me but she did not provide any TO me. I do not owe an outstanding debt. I feel it is a scam to gather information.
